ANNA GARRITY STATUE
In addition to the "Presque Isle Lighthouse Keepers Tribute" which is a statue made to the likeness of Patrick Garrity, Sr. as a tribute to all Keepers who served at our lighthouses from 1840 to approximately 1935, a statue in the likeness of Ms. Anna Garrity is being created to commemorate all female lighthouse keepers. Anna is 1 of 27 Michigan women to serve as a principal Keeper; no state has had more female Keepers.
We hope to unveil her in the summer of 2013, however, will keep you posted of official plans as they develop. A big heartfelt "thanks" to everyone who made this possible!
